Orion Chorale of Washington State is a music ministry that is based in Seattle that endeavors to spread God's word through music. Established in 1977, Orion Chorale of Washington State was initially known as Orion. Composed of 25 original members and directed by Mrs. Connie Barrow, they started singing of Jesus' second coming through beautiful Spirituals and anthems. However, as the years passed, due to the members' various personal, professional and education pursuits, the group disbanded. In 2007, the chorale was reorganized under the new name Orion Chorale of Washington State.
Today, our members come from various denominations in and around Seattle, Washington, we continue to spread God's hope of salvation through a cappella music. With a strong focus on African-American Spirituals as well as music from renowned composers like Moses Hogan, Roland Carter, Undine Moore and Jester Hariston, Hall Johnson and others, we strive to introduce, glorify, strengthen and reaffirm God through music, in the hope of helping God’s people prepare for Jesus' second coming.
